Hurricane Blog Continued

At the 8pm advisory Hurricane Wilma is 1 mph below a cat 3……..
Hurricane force winds extend up to 85 miles from the eye, with tropical storm force winds extending up to 230 miles from the eye.
Landfall is estimated at this time to be around 6am. With the tropical storm force winds begining around midnight.
Hurricane Wilma has also sped up, with its speed estimated at 15 mph at this time. It is expected to continue to gain in speed over night.

Estimated landfall is approximately 40 mi south of our location.
Sounds like it could be an interesting night.
We will continue to update until we lose internet connection, and hopefully we won’t lose it, but anything is possible.
Hopefully it move a little further south and make landfall over a mostly uninhabited area of the everglades.

  1. They just informed us that we should be getting hurricane force winds at 2:00 am.

    Track has shifted a little (not much) south of us. We should still cet Cat 1+. That puts in the NE corner where the most rain is.


    All they keep talking about is tornados. Yee Haw Junction has already had one.

  2. We aren’t hearing about your storm surge, but a lot of talk about tornados.

    They are saying hurricane force winds from 6:00 am to 2:00pm tomorrow


  3. 11:00 pm Cat 3, 115 mph, forward speed 18 mph, landfall could be as soon as 6:00 am south of Ft Myers will move across Fl. at aprox 25 mph.

    We are now projected to be on the SE side with winds to 110 mph worst weather 6am to 2pm Monday.
